Culture and the people who serve it are not among the government’s priorities
AKEL C.C. Press Office, 17th June 2020, Nicosia
AKEL expresses its discontent with the non-payment of the benefit for working people in the field of Culture. As if the fact that the announced benefit is insufficient isn’t enough and that the announcement was made belatedly, the government continues to delay paying it at a time when many working people in the field of Culture are going through very hard times. This proves once again that as far as the Anastasiades government is concerned, Culture and the people who serve it are not among its priorities.
We call on the government to abandon its delays and bureaucratic procedures and proceed without any further delay to the payment of the one-time grant.
